Metanoia Student Ministry
McGuire's Youth Ministry concentrates on presenting Christ's message in a way that is non-invasive while being challenging and relevant to lives of youth. We focus on empowering people to live the Christian life, share the message and story of Jesus, and serve our community of West Monroe and surrounding areas.
The Greek word Metanoia (Μετανοίας) is the word in the New Testament that is often translated as repentance.
It literally means a change of mind.
The youth at McGuire are faithfully seeking
{a change of mind in an ever changing world}
SPRING 2012
UMYF
Each Sunday night this spring the UMYF will meet for a communal meal, games and discussion. Join us as we discover our spiritual gifts and how God wants us to use them to further His kingdom.
Jr. High Sunday School
The Jr. High Sunday School curriculum is a DVD based curriculum called Grapple. It is put together by Group. It has an in-class discussion as well as weekly online topics for the young people to check out individually. The youth have the scriptures presented to them a week in advance in order to have an opportunity to be familiar with the passages before they come to Sunday School. It is led by James Womack and Skye McLain, who are active members of the New Chapter Adults.
Click here for more information on the curriculum: Grapple!
Sr. High Sunday School
The Sr. High Sunday School class is taking an in depth look into the book of Luke. The Youth Director, Chris McLain, leads this class. Due to the inquisitive nature of the Sr. High youth, it usually leads to interesting and informative discussions that are based on scripture and United Methodist Doctrine.
